Greetings everyone! This is Brianne, speaking from the Dominican Republic. We all made it, hallelujah! Our plane flew in on time and the bus took us from the airport to Juan Tomas, which was about an hour away. Argenis, the Principal of the school, was there to pick us up and helped us order from Burger King. Praise the Lord for him because I was famished after the long flight. We were then led out to the bus, which was air conditioned. Another blessing. The drive back to headquarters, aka. the compund, was a beautiful scenic route. Just looking out and seeing people walking on the side of the street, greeting each other and blasting Spanish music was a breath of fresh air. Another breath of fresh air was the joy that overcame me as I splayed out on my bunk bed and rested my tired legs. The rooms we are staying in are very spacious, filled with bunk beds and fans. I unpacked my suitcase, because I am slightly OCD, and then we ate our first meal here. Besides the Burger King of course. After dinner we had some team bonding moments. There are already inside jokes forming and I can honestly say that I love everyone on this trip. I usually get along with people pretty well, but getting along with the people on this trip hardly takes any effort at all! Getting to bed took longer than usual, as I was contemplating life. I woke up 50,000 times throughout the night, but I woke up energized nevertheless. By the way dad, I have not gotten a sunburn yet, I will update you later if that is still true or not. Alright folks, that´s all for today. Love you guys, Brooke is coming in clutch with the next post. Adios amigos! By the, way my spanish skills begin and end at Adios, Gracias and asking where the bathroom is. That´s not cute, I need to learn more Spanish.
